This paper discusses the relationship of the Movement of Independent Writers of Pernambuco with the
literary canon of the 1980s. It presents a brief discussion of scientific and traditional knowledge,
characterizing one as superior to another. Therefore, we discuss the relationship of superior and inferior
in literary medium, showing the strength of the 1980 front writers to an editorial culture guided by the
bureaucracy and submission to the State.
